Blue Moon Marquee won the 2024 Juno Award for Blues Album of the Year with Scream, Holler & Howl, a year after sweeping four Maple Blues Awards, Entertainer of the Year among them. Guitarist and singer A.W. Cardinal, raised in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, and Jasmine Colette, who sings and plays upright bass and drums, write their own swing blues steeped in old jump and gutbucket records. The Blues Foundation nominated them for Emerging Artist at the Blues Music Awards. Tonight they play Union Square as a trio, with Peter Cormier on keys. Two sets, one 100 seat room, and a band that makes it very hard to stay in your chair.
