For more than fifty years, Oakland guitarist and vocalist Bobby Young has been a fixture of Bay Area blues, a player whose road has run alongside John Lee Hooker, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Maria Muldaur, and Jimmy McCracklin. He pours Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and Sly Stone into a sound all his own, then passes the torch on the bandstand: his son Nick Young stands beside him on second guitar, making the BYP a genuine family affair. That electric blend of blues, rock, funk, and soul earned Northern California Entertainment Music Awards Blues Band of the Year. Five decades of groove, two guitars, one intimate room. Reserve your table before this one sells out.

Learn more about The Bobby Young Project

The Bobby Young Project took shape in Oakland in 1997, though Young and drummer Latrosse Harris had been locking in together since 1973. Rounded out by Greg 'Gman' Simmons on bass and Gig Anderson on keys, the band has carried the deep Bay Area blues tradition across clubs and festivals for decades. Expect gritty guitar, soulful vocals, and a groove built by players who have spent a lifetime in the music.
