An Evening with

Live at Biscuits and Blues
An Evening with
Paul Steward
About the show
In 2010 Paul Steward and his father Richard, the duo Twice As Good, became the first California Native artists to win the Blues Award at the Native American Music Awards. Steward is Southeastern Pomo, from the Elem Indian Colony, and he has spent more than two decades playing the blues across Northern California, including nights backing Bay Area soul man Freddie Hughes. His solo debut, World Champion, runs blues, rock and rhythm and blues through his Native roots, and its song Myanik Xe (Beautiful Music) is sung in the Southeastern Pomo language. By day he teaches American Indian Studies at San Francisco State. Tonight he plays all evening long, so drop in any time before 8:45, grab dinner, and stay for the blues until 9:30.
